Mark Forward MBA
Consultant

Mark is Franchize Consultants’ South Island consultant, based in Christchurch.

Mark comes to us after over 20 years in the financial services sector. He has spent time in senior roles with business banking, marketing, retail and corporate banking.

One of the highlights of Mark’s banking career was establishing ANZ Bank’s franchising department in the mid 1990’s. Mark successfully developed the bank’s profile in the sector among franchisors and franchise service providers and spent some time as a Board Member of the Franchise Association of New Zealand.

During Mark’s role he analysed and assessed numerous franchise systems, then developed preferred arrangements with the better systems. Mark’s skills assessing franchise systems provide a powerful background to his current strategic consulting role working with both prospective and large established franchise systems.

In 2006 he left the bank to study for an MBA at Canterbury University which he successfully completed in 15 months. Since that time Mark has been involved in the establishment and operation of a number of companies, one of which involved development of a service offering for national franchise systems.

Mark has consulted to a number of franchised and non-franchised businesses specialising in the areas of strategic planning, human resources, customer service and customer relationship management.

Mark has a strong community focus having volunteered for numerous community organisations and having spent time on the Board of the Otago Community Hospice. Mark is also a Business Mentor.

Mark likes spending time with friends and family, keeping fit by running and playing tennis and is also a keen sports follower…particularly of his beloved red and blacks!
